Movie Categories
Defining categories or genres for movies is a very subjective process. Every great movie review book and web site has their own method for defining categories and assigning movies to them. In many cases they use hybrids such as comedy/drama, horror/comedy, family/drama, romantic comedy etc. In trying to keep things simple and consistent, we narrow down the categories to the following and try our best to assign each movie to the most appropriate category. Because this is such a subjective exercise, we are open to consider changes where necessary:

Enjoyment of movies is universal - spanning all age groups. As our video database continues to expand, we encourage our members to suggest movie titles which have not yet been included. (No porn or sex movies will be accepted.) Please submit Titles by email to: titles@memvideo.com
Regarding the Year of Release, there are occasional discrepancies amongst other movie databases in this regard especially for foreign films. These often have an earlier release date in their own country. As a norm, we show the Year of Release in the U.S.
